How walk-in, tall cabinet, reach-in and pull-out pantries compare in capacity, cost of space and ease of use.
A pantry can take several forms. A walk-in pantry is a small room with shelves on one or more walls. A tall cabinet pantry is a floor-to-ceiling cabinet, often with doors that open to shelves. A reach-in pantry is a closet with shelving. A pull-out pantry is a narrow cabinet that slides out, useful for gaps. Each suits a different space and a different way of shopping.
Walk-ins offer the most capacity but need floor area. Tall cabinets give organized storage in a smaller footprint. Pull-outs make the most of narrow spaces. Many Nashville homes have a closet or a hallway nook that can become a pantry. We look at what you store and how you shop, then plan shelf depth, spacing and lighting.
